Jeff Linder on Manipulating Space, Barkley Drives, and Attacking Switching {Wyoming}

Slappin’ Glass sits down this week with the Head Coach of Wyoming MBB, Jeff Linder! Widely regarded as one of the best offensive minds in the game, the trio dive into the areas of manipulating space, PnR areas, DHO’s, and talk “Barkley Drives”, and attacking switching during the always fun “Start, Sub, or Sit?!”

Inside the Episode

It was another fun week on the podcast as we sat down with one of the best minds in basketball, Jeff Linder. The Wyoming MBB Head Coach was more than gracious in sharing his thoughts about a variety of topics including:

  • All Things Spacing on Offense: We dove headfirst into the topic of offensive spacing, and heard Coach Linder’s thoughts on the art of spacing, re-spacing, and manipulating spacing. A ton of great thoughts and teaching points in this segment.
  • Barkley Drives: Within our “Start, Sub, or Sit?!” segment we picked Coach Linder’s brain about his use of “dribble downs” or “Barkley Drives.” Wyoming used this concept more than any team in the country last season as it became one of the best ways to get two on the ball and create an advantage.
  • Attacking Switching Defenses: Another fun topic during “Start, Sub, or Sit?!” was on how coaches can think about attacking a switching defense, as well as how to teach players to play through switching actions. Another great segment here from Coach Linder.
